Altered Fridge Magnet

I picked up a pair of little wooden framed fridge magnets from a 2nd hand store. They measure just over 2 inches square. This one has been altered by first using texture paste pushed through a mask then spritzing with Cosmic Shimmer Mist in Red Firefly, while still wet I added embossing powders and beads. I then heated with a heat gun until it all melted. A quick rub over with viva decor Inca gold, add a heart, an Art chix image and a word quote and it was done. Quick and simple.
I am entering this into the Mixed Media Monday this month.
The viva Decor and the Cosmic shimmer are available from Bubbly Funk

Steampunk Cuff links

I wanted to show these off as I am really pleased with the way they have turned out.
I wanted the little propellers to still turn, so I then had the problem of how to get them to fit onto the cuff link blank so it did not go lop sided, then last night when I had some resin left from a project, I wondered if a dome of this put onto the blank and left to go off a bit before the assembled cogs and propeller were put on, would stick it all down and set it straight.
So I tried it and then left it (actually I went to bed so I would not keep poking it to see if it was dry lol)and this morning it's set solid, everything is set straight and I am dead chuffed.
I wanted to do some of these for my folksy shop but I was worried about their durability but I am happy now so I shall be listing some.

Bubbly Funk

Just to announce I am now on the Bubbly Funk Design Team. Its a great place to shop and sells all the lovely painty stuff I like, so I think I am going to feel right at home and I look forward to my first DT project.

Optical Lens Pendant

I have had a few of these for a while. I have seen them done as pendants and I have always been slightly dissapointed with some that I have seen as the reverse side of them looked very messy where you could see the glue where the parts had been attached. So yesterday I wondered about using resin with them and it has worked a treat. There is no danger of any bits falling off as they are all sealed in and better than that the back is as good to look at as the front. I am so in love with resin.

Stampotique canvas

I made this canvas using the Texture paste Background technique made famous by Linda. Her tutorial for it can be found on YouTube here. The main image is a stampotique rubber stamp.
I love this stamp image and I recently lent it to my sister to spread the love of it, and she used it on my birthday card. I could not bear to throw the image away so this is the image of my card recycled onto this canvas. The rubber stamp is available to buy from Happy Daze. In addition to this I used Claudine Hellmuth studio paints and a scroll works stamp Sequence waste all of which Moira stocks at Happy Daze.

From my own personal stash I used Lumiere paints, silver embossing powder, random metal embellishments and jewels.

I will be listing this for sale in my folksy shop the link for which can be found in the side bar.

Masking

The challenge on the Stampotique designers is masking. I have not done this a great deal so I did a very basic card. All the stamps I have used are from the Jo Capper-Sandon collection by Stampotique and are available from Happydaze.

Playing with Resin

I recently received my order of resin so I have had a play with it in a few different ways. The 2 pocket watches were done in quite different ways. The one with the bird was filled in layers starting from the back, the other one has glass in it and I placed it on its front and filled it starting with a layer to cover the glass and then also filled in layers to create a floating effect with the items in it.
The mould is from crafty individuals and I filled it adding beads as I went and when set I added gold wax to the front to give it an aged affect. The domino had an indentation on the back of it and I added watch parts to it and the dragonfly and then filled it with resin sealing the parts and dragonfly in place.
The jewellery pieces will be listed in my folksy shop.

Shrine Pendant: Crafty Individuals

.
This was made using one of the elements from Crafty Individuals plate CI-294. In the first photo you can see the image clearly in the UTEE inside the small shrine. The metal shrine was placed onto the rubber stamp and the melted UTEE was poured directly into it from a melt pot. When cold some Inca Gold Wax was rubbed over the image to highlight the elements on it.

In the 2nd It has been embellished to become a Steampunk Style Pendant
