It Killed my Mojo
I took on a commission that I started to have doubts about. when I quoted the price the the style was one thing but during the course of time the vendor slowly changed it until it was not my type of thing at all. It was a memory box and it was supposed to be vintage but it then changed to the colour of the wedding...pink & cream (yikes)and not at all vintage.
It was actually quicker to do than the original plan was so price wise I was very happy, but I hated doing it and my mojo died a sad death. But its finished now and received, and they are ecstatically happy with it, and I am £50 better off so I can feel my mojo returning lol.
I have a pile of things half done on my desk some I can show, some I can't, but I anticipate normal service returning to this blog soon LOL.
I also have a lovely sneak peek to put up soon that I am very excited about, so in anticipation of the normal service, I had better get off this computer and on with the stuff.

Steampunk Hat - Matilda's Travelling Hat
While some of us were at a trade show earlier in the year we all got talking about hat's and how with the Royal Wedding and Ladies Day how it would be nice to find some hats to alter. Well Moira who owns Happy Daze has come up trumps with finding these hats to alter. They are avilable to buy from the site and they are available in Cream, Black and White. A few of us on the Design Team were sent one to have a play with and this is mine. All the others that have been created by Julie, Moira and Jo are available to see on the shops Blog.
I have done mine to a Steampunk theme and it's designed for a Lady called Matilda who loves to travel but hates the time involved so I have made her this magical hat.
You turn the Key, pop on your goggles and woosh your there. your destination chosen by the map and ticket you place in the brim
.
I have used reclaimed grandfather clock parts on this as well as some peacock feathers that were given to me by my friend who has six of these beauties on their farm.
I have created a large bow with some netting and used scroll work stamps to make a flower, then using some Tim Holtz Cogs and a spinner I made a small display that is attached with a hat pin to the center of the bow.
The navigation map tucked into the brim is stamped using a scroll works stamp, and the small gold pin charm is available from the shop.
The goggles I designed and made myself.

Free As A Bird
Crafty individuals have a new challenge this month. The full details of it are listed on Jean's Blog. The Theme is Free As A bird and there is a great prize.
I have used a couple of their new plates on these two Birdy Bits.

The little notebook has used CI-309 as the main image and elements from CI-308 as well as one of the "must have" birds.

The peacock boxed canvas has used the lovely new plate CI-310 and has been inked and coloured to within half an inch of its life to give it a faded vintage look.
I boxed the canvas in with wood and then coloured it with viva croco, adding beads and embossing powders to give it texture.
Finishing off with a Maya road crown and some fusible crystalina fibres. All the stamps are available from Crafty Individuals website. The fusible fibres and viva croco are available from Happy Daze.

New Challenge
The new Happy Daze challenge on Facebook is Black and White.
This is what I have made. I was lucky on Mother's Day because my daughter katie brought me a Kindle. I have been wanting a case for it, but because I have brought a Gelaskin for it I wanted to be able to see its design so I did not want a case that it stayed in while you used it. So I made myself this.
The closure button has been made with Grunge Board, black Soot alcohol ink, white embossing powder and a small black center button to give it strength when sewn on.
Pop over to the facebook page to enter the challenge with a chance to win a voucher to spend in the shop worth £15.00
