Wizard of Oz Pencil Box

I love these wooden pencil boxes in the shop and I have altered this one using the Artistic Stamper Wizard of Oz stamps.
I wanted the box to look really battered as if it had been in the tornado with Dorothy, So I first of all gave it a coat of Claudine Hellmuths Dash of Red and when dry I crackled a coat of Tan over the top. When it was dry I then roughly sanded it to give it a very aged look.
The images are all stamped in versfine ink. I have used a backgound stamp to fill in any blank areas, there are a great selection of stamps to choose from in the shop.
I have used gold embossing powder to edge it. I finished it off with a large gold button from my ever growing stash of these.

Just for Fun

This week on Just for fun the theme is to use corrugated card on a project. I have incorporated the theme into a tag using one of the new Crafty individual stamps CI-322, I think this is probably my favourite of their new releases. I like the JFF challenge as it seems a very relaxed challenge. I have had this on my desk half done for a couple of days, but life had got in the way of crafting as it has a habit of doing with me at the moment so I was wondering if I would even get this small piece of crafting finished, but lucky for me my sister Jackie was here today, so as she is a dab hand with the colouring, in she coloured the image for me using distress inks.
The tag is coloured using Claudine Hellmuth gesso and paint available from Happy Daze.
The flowers I have made using vintage music paper and Tim Holtz dies, the stalk and leaves are cut using movers and shapers dies. The music paper has been coloured with adirondack colour wash and perfect pearls mists.
I am going to put a small easel die cut on the back of this and hey presto it becomes a card.

Optical Lens Pendants

I wanted to get my resin out again this weekend. I really do love the Magi Gloss resin that Happy Daze have in stock and I just have to keep playing with it. It drys in less than 20 minutes under the UV lamp.
I have used the Crafty individual images CI-065 , CI-135 and CI-305 on these. I have stamped the images on one side of the lenses using stazon ink, then coating each side with the resin (drying one side before coating the next one) fixing any embelishments used in place with the resin so they are set in place as it drys.

Captured fairy Jewellery Box

I had had this little fairy buzzing around my room for the last few nights causing havoc, knocking things over and being very naughty, I eventually managed to catch her, the first thing that came to hand was an old pocket watch front and as soon the fairy landed on this little box I managed to get the watch front over it. As with all fairies as soon as they are caught they freeze and become suspended in time until they are freed again. But I must admit I think she makes a lovely addition to the top of this box.
The box is one of the wooden ones from the Happy Daze shop. I first of all gave it a coat of modern masters copper paint which I treated with the green patina finish to age it.
All the watch parts are purposed from old pocket watches and clocks. The clock hands are two game spinners that I have cut down. The fairy charm,Dragonfly and numbered pin are all available from the shop.
Once everything was in place I gave it a light coat of resin to hold it all in place and give it a nice shine. I also painted the sides of the box with the resin as it makes it go a lovely colour.
Th When it was all dry I gave it a quick rub over with some Viva Decor Inka gold just to give it a bit more of an aged look.
The Feet are the Tim holtz Foundations box feet and Key Hole is one from the Tim Holtz Locket key Set

Please Note: No Faries were hurt during the making of this box LOL

As This has a dangly key on it, it will also fit in with the current challenge this month of Dangly Things. Have a look HERE to see all the details of how to enter.

Just for fun Plastic

This is one of those paper holder that you can get really cheap. Plain see through a bit basic and a bit to nasty for my daughter who requested that I decorate it before it went to live in her room.
My most favourite stamp of all time has been used on it and it has simply been coloured with alcohol inks and it is now allowed to be re homed in "the room"....but I may just keep it now that its been prettyfied.lol
I have made it to enter into the Just For Fun challenge.
