Craft Stamper Blog Hop – Looking Back

Welcome to this stop on the Craft Stamper Hop! If your visit isn’t related to the Hop then be sure to pop over to the Craft Stamper Blog to join in, as there are lots of prizes to be won!

I am Carol, I joined the Craft Stamper Design team in early 2012 and I love being part of such a talented team. I would describe my style as messy and grungy, well that is what my desk tells me at the end of a craft session as its always covered in paint, gesso and other messy stuff.

SPOT PRIZE

My spot prize is A Stampotique Voucher worth $30.00! To be in with a chance of winning simply leave a comment on this blog post by midnight on Friday 8th February 2013. The winner will be drawn at random week commencing Mon 11th February.

My project for the hop is a Top Hat. I used the template from the Craft Stamper Resources page. which is from a Craft stamper article by Kim Costello.
My hat is cut from grunge paper, painted black and run through the big shot using a embossing folder.
I then assembled it according to the instructions on Kim's blog.
Making the hats are fun, but it is the decorating that I really enjoy, as you can just let your imagination run wild.

I decided to go with a Mad Hatter theme, and as I was so thrilled to join the Stampotique design team last year, I chose to use their Image of the Hatter and the White Rabbit.  My base is cut using the sizziz alterations small easel die. I cut the pieces again using Ten Second Studios metal which I embossed with the same folder used  on the hat. Once it was all dry I wound wire up and around the base and stuck the flower element from the Stampotique Steampunk Boarder onto it.( this is the stamp behind the White Rabbit on the base)

My hat features the Hatter himself, added to the ribbon hat band, along with a few cogs, a spinner and a small quote. I made the hearts using treasure trove, which is a fluid mixture that you dip your wire shape into and it covers them in a film, which when dry is semi-translucent. I attached these to the hat with the whirly gig element from the border stamps and held them all in place with a brad poked through the hat. The Pocket watch is made from chipboard with a vintage watch glass over the top of it.

The letter to collect from me is I

I hope you enjoyed my post! Your next stop on the hop is Hels

If you loose your way on the hop at any time, just pop back to the Craft Stamper Blog for the full list of participants.

Please do call back here on Thursday 7th Feb as I will be doing a full step by step tutorial of an altered heart, using lots of paint, ink and even a bit of bling. I will also be doing a giveaway.
Stampotique Rubber stamps are available from Stampotique originals and in the UK this particular range are available from A sprinkle of Imagination.
