Chunky Halloween ATC for Happy Daze

For my last piece for happy daze this month I have altered a wooden chunky ATC using Artistic Outpost rubber stamps. I used the stamp sets, Haunted Halloween, Whimsical Melage and Birds of a Feather.

The block was painted with black gesso and then over stamped with images in white ink before the main images were stuck in position.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I do appreciate any comments that are left, Carol x

Steampunk Stargazer Chunky ATC

I am developing a serious condition concerning these chunky ATC's and of course there is no hope for me now that Moira stocks them in the shop. This is the link for them.
I love the fact that you just just shove loads of stuff on them.
For this one I have used the Icarus stamp by Lost Coast (he is one of my favourite stamps of the moment). The background is one of the new Blockheads range (Stargazer) that are now being stocked.
All my cogs are die cuts mounted onto wooden spools. I was trying to get the feel of my Icarus trying to reach the handle to turn off the crazy machine before it turns night into day and burns his wings.

A Chunky ATC for Crafty Individuals

A new month so it's a new challenge for Crafty Individuals. This month the theme is Spring. I am not really a pretty flower type crafter so this was a bit of a challenge for me, so I went down the route of springs and a steampunk look, but given a bit of a lighter touch.

My idea behind it was of  mechanical butterfly machine. Wind the large key on the side, the spring wound around the main body of it tightens and releases the butterflies to fly around for 1 minute then they return to their spots on the block.

I have used the Crafty Indivdual stamps CI-333 on this, an additional butterfly from CI-231 which is a lovely plate of all different sized butterflies and one of the small elements from CI-308 under the Tim Holtz Fragment in the top corner.

I have also used, Alcohol inks,Ten second Studio metal, a wooden reel, Tim Holtz fragments, and grungeboard, all of which are available from Happy Daze . I have also heard  that Moira from the shop will soon be stocking the Chunky ATC wooden blocks, so it maybe worth sending her an email at the shop to pre-order these.

I have linked this to the Try It On A Tuesday Challenge this week which is to show some Texture.

Steampunk Chunky ATC

I have fancied trying one of these ever since I first saw one a couple of years ago. They now seem to be everywhere so I figured it was time to actually getting around to doing one.The wooden blocks are ATC sized 2.5 x 3.5 inches, they vary from the normal ATC in that they are wooden and 1.5 inches deep.
I have altered this one in a steampunk style. I covered all the sides apart from the front in Ten Second Studio Metal. I had first run this through my big shot using a cuttlebug steampunk plate, I then lightly sanded the texture to give it an aged appearance and to highlight the pattern. I stuck this to the block with The Crafters Pick Ulitmate Glue , this is the perfect glue for this as it just seems to fuse the metal to the wood

The propeller goes round as it is fixed in place with a screw, these are in the shop but at the moment they are sadly  out of stock .

The large knob on the top is from an old chest of draws that I got out of a skip for all the lovely hardware on it, this is lovely and aged with a great natural green patina finish. The lotto number is from an old set I picked up in a 2nd hand shop.

All the Tim Holtz Gears and spinners are available in the shop as are the other various charms and all the inks I have used.
The challenge this month to try something new or to use something new. For all the details of the challenge and how to enter the post can be seen here.
All the items used are available from Happy Daze
The Stamp I have used is CI - 336  by Crafty Individuals .
