PaperArtsy Christmas Decoration

Getting down to finishing off a few older projects today.
I started this last year about this time, then life got a bit rock and roll and I never got it finished.

I do love this Reindeer image, he looks so majestic.

It's using one of last christmas released by Scrapcosy for PaperArtsy, Stamped onto glass, coloured and then backed with another piece off glass and then sealed using UTEE and my melt pot, before finishing it with a bit of bling.

I will be listing this in my Etsy shop at some point.

Thank you for your visit.

Holy Card Decorations

I enjoyed making these when I did them before and as they have now all sold out on my shop, I had a little play and have made some re-stocks and new designs too.

I will be uploading these to my Etsy shop over the next few days.

A link is in my side bar.

Crafty Individuals Display Board

I did a demo earlier in the year at Birds in the Barn using the melt pot. I made loads of samples and most of them were along the front of the table where I was working so people could pick them up and look at them. But when I had finished all my prepping I was looking at what I had made and the colours of these pieces all seemed to fit nicely together so I decided to make them up onto a little display board and leave to stand up in the shop afterwards.
My background is just a piece of MDF that I applied grunge paste to before framing with some wood and then painting and highlighting with some Treasure Gold, nothing to fussy as I wanted the bits and bobs I had made to be the focus, and not the background.

Canvas using CI - 389

Little stamped glass backed with text and sealed with UTEE Using CI - 366

Collage Images inside glass sealed with UTEE image from collage sheet Birds 1

All the little Doo Dads that are made from UTEE have been stamped with elements from various Crafty Individual Stamps. The whole range can be found HERE

I am back demoing at Birds in the Barn on the 27th October when I will be particularly concentrating on the Range of Christmas Stamps available from Crafty Individuals.

A Little Bit of Alice

I have had this half finished for ages, along with a pile of other stuff. So before I start anything new I am going to finish off a few things. I had about 10 micro slides half done, all different designs and this is one of them, on which have used vintage Alice In Wonderland images from collage sheets by Alpha Rubber stamps.

As I have just noticed via an email that the Theme for that altered Alice this monht is anything goes....so this is going in for the challenge, also pretty fitting as Alpha rubber Stamps are their sponsor this month too.

Peacock Microscope Slide Decorations

Someone sent me some of these peacock charms recently as they know how much I like peacocks and I thought I would try them out on some Microscope Slide Decorations.
The images I have used for stamping are a Tim Holtz one and the other one I have just had for ages and I have no idea who makes it.

The one with the unknown stamp is my favourite of the two, I am putting both of these in my Folksy shop, but I think I shall be making some more in the near future when time allows as I find my melt pot very relaxing to use and these are very pretty and I love all the shades of blue and green on them.

Microscope Slide Decoration

This week for Happy Daze I have used two pieces of memory glass to make a little hanging decoration. I did a little collage to fit the glass and then sandwiched it between the two pieces with UTEE to make a faux solder. I did not have the colour UTEE I wanted so after it was set onto the glass I added a quick tap over with a paint dabber in black to make it a bit more gloomy looking. I also used this on the small charm at the bottom and the jewellery connector that I have used at the top to hang it from.

There is still time to enter the current challenge, to see all the details visit the blog post here

Slide:Alter it Monthly

For Alter It monthly this month is a winter or Christmas theme as it's winter here in the UK, but rather than insist on a winter or Christmas theme we are giving you the choice of 2 ways to go with the theme "Slide"...
It could be snow and ice, winter, Christmas.. or
it could be a slide-mailer on any theme.. It could even be a winter slide-mailer if you like...
you choose. As always it is your interpretation we are looking forward to seeing.
Crafty Individuals has handed in A lovely selection of rubber stamps and miniature themed Paper albums for us to post to this months lucky winner. The winner will be the piece that Crafty individuals choose as their favourite.

I have actually not made a slide mailer. But its a glass slide that goes into the slide mailer, simple reason is I couldn't find my actual slide mailers. I suspect they are under the pile of stuff that has temporarily gone to live in the loft room but as it like Siberia up there at the moment I am not going to hunt them out.
My example had been alcohol inked on one side and them embossed on the other with silver snow flakes. Then UTEED around the 4 edges before some filigree corners were bent into position on the top and bottom. A chain has been added for hanging and the chain at the bottom holds a silver snowflake.
This is now listed for sale in my Folksy Shop

Mixed Media Monday - House

My bit for the theme this week on Mixedmediamonday, I don't know how well this actually worked in the end, The wire at the top is supposed to be a roof, but I asked my Husband "what does that look like" and he said a bit of wire !!!!. I will let you know when he learns to walk again LOL.

Its done with a small collage piece, sandwiched between 2 glass slides and then dipped in utee for the solder look. The wire bits were between the pieces before they were dipped and pulled out of the way to avoid the utee and then quickly brought forward before the utee set. I don't know how house like it looks in the end but the idea was there.

Glass Slide Hangers

I had a fancy for trying these. The Mona one was the first one I made and it took me hours. Then I suddenly realised what I was doing and the 2nd one took 30 mins so I guess I may have sussed it, LOL.
I can see me doing some more of these as I really liked doing them and I can think of loads of ways to make them all different.
