Autumn Colours for the tag Along Challenge

I am the hostess for the Tag along Challenge this week. 

Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year, I love all the orange and browns that you get from the leaves off the trees.

I live in an area where there is a lot of farm land and a lot of the villages have Scarecrow festivals, where the villages are decorated with Scarecrow figures. So I have used a Scarcrow on my tag this week.

He is an Octopode Scarecrow from the wizard of Oz range. Octopode are Discontinuing  their range of rubber stamps and there is a sale on at the moment. Details can be found HERE.

The Animal in you

Over on Sunday Postcard Art this week the theme is "Animals". This is mine for this week. 

My background is one from my pile of one layer backgrounds I did with my Gelli Plate. 

My stars and Giraffe are by Octopode and the quote is one that my lovely friend Moira sent me recently as a surprise RAK.

Tag # 6 Something Wicked this Way Comes

I am hosting the Tag Along Challenge this week. This is my tag for the challenge. I used a rub-on resist technique for my background, finishing it with rubber stamping and some stitching.

My Rubber Stamped images are by The Octopode factory and Stampotique Originals.

Octopode tags using squidgy Pins

I was recently sent some Squidgy Pins to play with. I have made a pair of tags using them.

This is what I did with them

Tag 1

Stamp your image twice, once directly onto your tag and again onto a scrap of paper to use as a mask.
Mask your image and spray your tag with ink, remove all the stars from the star sheet and lay it on your tag and masked image. Spray with a different shade of ink, remove the stencil and the mask and heat dry your tag.
Colour your image.Spray eight of the larger stars you removed from the sheets with the yellow, heat dry. Attach the stars to the tag as shown.Add a quote and a piece of ribbon. Finish by edging with black paint, and hand drawn lines.

Tag 2

Colour the tag and a few of the cogs with Pink spay and heat dry. Using a glue like pritt stick, attach the wooden cogs to an acylic block in a random pattern. Put a small amount of paint onto your craft mat, tap your cogs on the acrylic block into this, and then stamp onto your tag, repeat this until you are happy with your background pattern.

Stamp your image onto a piece of white paper scrap and colour in. Glue the image in place. Remove your cogs from the acrylic block, they should now be a nice colour combination of the spray and the paint, attach them to your tag as shown. Paint an arrow with black paint and attach it to the cogs.
Finish the tag with the black paint, ribbon and a quote

Octopode Factory Challenge - Flowers

On the TOFF challenge this week it all about flowers, and Lily has two great digi downloads for free on the Frilly Underwear Blog.

I have this for the challenge, it's a wooden frame which has removable glass. I stamped and coloured the glass and then coated it in clear viva décor crackle paint.

The wooden frame was painted and then I coloured the clear viva with alcohol inks. I used this through a mask to get the diamond pattern on the frame.

Adding a quote and layered flowers. I made the flowers by stamping the flower twice for each shape, and carefully cutting along the lines on one of them and slightly bending the petals so they were raised. I stuck one cut shape to a flat flower shape and added a gem to the centre of each flower.

I added a length of chain to the top for hanging in my window recess so the light can shine through it.

Hey, Doll Face

This Octopode Stamp is available exclusively from That's Crafty.

Octopode Tag

A tag using the large Dorothy Image and the Butterflys. I have used Gesso and Dylusion spray inks for the background, and I have overstamped it with the Wizard Of Oz text.
The current Octopode challenge is Tags.

Octopode Sun Catcher

A little hanging sun catcher using octopode's Glinda and some of her Oz Friends. This is the remake of what my cat laid on in the previous post. It is a glass shape that has been stamped and then viva Croco applied over the top of the image. the viva reacts with the alcohol inks and give quite a cool stained glass effect as it splits all the alcohol ink up. I have run a line of solder round the edge of it. I also soldered jump rings to the bottom edge so I could hang Tim Holtz fragments with the Tin man, Lion and Scarecrow images on them.
It now hangs in my window and looks pretty.

The Queens Room with Octopode

One of my nieces recently had a little baby boy, she already has a daughter who is so cute. Her Daughter is called Holly and she is 3. She always refered to herself as princess Holly, but since the arrival of her baby brother she has now promoted herself to Queen.
I received these Octopode Stamps last week and I thought of using them to make her a plaque for her bedroom door to celebrate her new queenly status.
Its only basic stamping and colouring with a bit of masking, finished off with some glossy accents and other bits and pieces, but I think she will like it.
Octopode stamps are available from the Octopode Factory, the link is on the header of the blog. I have used the large Glinda on this and one of the mini flowers. I do think the flower set are very versatile, with some great designs.
