Just Be Happy

I used
Ink Splats

This week for Visible image I have a card to share with you, those who know me will know I am a bit of a sucker for anything Alice in Wonderland related so I am the proud owner of the Cheshire cat and I have used him on my card today.

All my stamping is directly onto my card with a hand drawn border added round the sides.

I coloured my cat using water colour crayons and blending to achieve the look I wanted.

I then masked this and my quote off and used the ink splats stamps with similar colours of paint to add the colour to the background.

This is my last post for Visible image and I would like to thank Helen and Mark for having me on the team.

Have a lovely day, Carol xx

My Inkognito Heart

I used

I have a journal page to share today using stamps by Invisible Image.

The basic painty base was done with my Gelli Plate.

I stamped my image and quote in black and then embossed them with clear embossing powder as I thought this would keep them nice and dense on the page but also as I wanted to be able to wipe other mediums of them easily.

I stamped the splatter in red and black on my page, I then added lots of other layers over the top of this, drips with spray paints, crackle diamonds with DecoArt Crackle paint coloured with Media paint, (one of my favorite things to do at the moment) and then splatters of gold paint to finish it all off. Wiping any splatters off the heart and image as I went.

I bordered the whole page using the border stamp from the flower set and black ink.

The washi tape is simply to hold my page in where it got so wet it fell out of my book.

The full range of stamps from Visible image can be seen on the website HERE.

Corners of your Mind Journal Page

I have a journal page this week for Visible Image.

I used the following stamps

I brought this stencil about 2 years ago I have never used it until now, I never felt I had the right images or quote to get the idea over that I had when I brought it. But this quote is exactly what I was thinking of when I got the stencil and the birds fit perfectly behind the image, together they give the feeling of daydream and whimsy that I was always thinking off.

My background is built up layers of washi tape and paint, applied through stencils and with bottle lids. My main stencil had simply been applied with black paint, then masked off too add the deeper purple and white dots inside the face area.

I added my quote and then stamped the border with the long stamp from the Flower Inkognito set.

I added my flying birds and a few dropped feathers using the Learn to fly again set.

enjoy your day, Carol xx

We all need Magic

A quick tag to share using the Unicorn Magic set by Visible Image.

A quick dry brushed background using DecoArt Paints, adding yellow stars with a Dinky stencil from That's Crafty.

I stamped my unicorn and quote in black ink finishing it all off with some machine stitching and a bit of ribbon.

Release your Flying Monkey's

I used the following stamps

Brick Wall
Visometry Set 3
Oz Flying Monkey Set

all the stamps can be found  HERE on the visible image website.

This is actually a background that I prepped ages ago for a class, I always have a pile of basic painty backgrounds sitting around either from trying things out or from showing techniques in classes.

This is a loose leaf page approx 19 x 27 cm.

This is done with just black paint and white tinting base from the the Deco art media range. I used a stencil and a chunky hand cut lino stamp that I did ages ago to use with paint.
On the finished page I have now actually filled in the stamped swirl with gesso as I wanted to stamp the small image from the Visometry Set 3  on my background as I thought it would go well with my image. I just added gesso over the swirl, filled it in with colour and then stamped my image over it, easy peasy.

I thought was is a bit of a moody background so I have used the Flying Monkey from the Oz set of stamps on it as he does look a grumpy little thing and I thought he would suit the page. I coloured him using my Polychromos and Caran D'Ache pencils

I wanted him to sit on washi so I used some white tape and stamped the Brick Wall stamp on it with red paint, added this to the page and sticking down Mr Monkey so he was sitting on it.

I finished off my page by adding the small monkey's from the set buzzing around his head, and one of my favorite things at the moment, Decoart crackle paint mixed with media paint and applied through a stencil, I do love the way this looks.

Quick and Easy Cards

It is my day on the Visible Image blog today. I have made three quick and easy cards this week all using images from the latest release.

They all share the same principle of stamping the image on the edge of the card and then cutting round it to give a shaped card.
I have then masked off the image and added pops of colour with paint and a stencil, carrying this over into the inside of the card.
Finishing each card with some hand drawn lines.

A Trio of Tags plus 1

It is my day on the Visible Image blog today and I have 4 tags featuring some stamps from their latest release.

My stamps used are

A lot of my stamping on these is done with paint, something I love to do but not tried with Acrylic stamps before, but it was a massive success with the stamps and I especially love how the Visometry Set 2 looks stamped in paint on both the tags I have used it on it really makes the stamps pop on the bright backgrounds.

I used a variety of techniques on my tags for the background, some were done with my Gelli Plate, some were simply finger painted, with lots of texture added with gesso and texture paste. I always think tags are great to try out new stamps on and to play around with ideas before you try then in your journal.

Hope you have a crafty week.

Light Bulb Moment

I love the light bulb set "shine bright" from the latest release from Visible Image.

I have been doing paper mache' at school with the children and when I saw this set I thought of a hat, so I took my now expert (cough) paper mache' skills and made myself a little hat.

Using DecoArt Modeling paste and paints to  give it the look I wanted.

I made a little stand for it so I could wrap wire around it and added stamped elements using the Fab Stamps from Visible Image.

I stamped my ribbon with Tyre Marks before wrapping it round my hat to make a Hat Band.

I then decided my hat needed a purpose, so the label attached to the key reads "turn for bright idea", so the idea is you put on the hat, turn the key and a bright idea pops into your head, hence my title of "light bulb moment"

I enjoyed making this project and if you have time this weekend Visible Image are on Create and Craft TV at 10am with lots of demos and the latest stamps will be available to buy.

Thanks for you visit and have a crafty weekend.

Could It Be Magic

I used

It's my turn on the Visible Image Blog today and I have one of the lovely new Monoliths to share with you today paired with one of the stamp sets from the new release.

I began by prepping my Monolith with gesso. I then used my Gelli Plate to build up my basic background. I used my DecoArt Multi Surface paints for this as they have the lovely bright colours that I like on to use with my Gelli.

I then used more Gesso to add the star burst effect with a stencil, to get the position of this right I stamped my Unicorn onto my Monolith and then positioned the stencil and applied my Gesso.

I then stamped the word from the text stamp in the set and used Glossy accents over this to seal it.

My stars are done with a clear acrylic gel that I added DecoArt Media paint too, to get the bright pop of turquoise, also adding gold Beadazzels to it before using a pallet knife to apply through a stencil. This dried semi-translucent which was the look I wanted, so I was please this worked as I had not tried it before.

I then stamped my Unicorn onto lightweight card, cut it out and stuck it in place over my previously stamped image which I could still just about see.

The back is done in the same way but with the full quote used on the center of the block over the starburst of Gesso.

I sealed my block with a satin varnish to give it a light sheen.

The new release stamps from Visible Image are now available to pre-order from their on-line shop as the the Monoliths. I am sure you will find some new favorites among the new stamp releases and I must say that the Monoliths are pretty awesome to work on.

One more thing, did you like my Barry Manilow Title ??

Have a good day,

Carol xx

Visible Image Debut

I used the Following Stamps

Woo Hoo it's my Debut post for Visible Image today. I wanted to used their iconic stamp of the Eye for my post, this seems to be their trademark stamp and I hope I have done it justice on the following card.

My card is done journal style with a clean and simple feel to it.

I stamped my image and quote directly onto my card blank using black archival ink, I then masked off the eye area leaving the surrounding splatter unmasked.

I then used a dot Stencil with a random dot pattern and applied 3 shades of DecoArt Mulit surface paint using a piece of cut and dry to mix the colours as I went to give various shades from the 3 colours.

I then picked out 3 similer colours from my Caran d'Ache pencils to colour the center of the eye again layering the colours to achieve different shades.

I finished with my must doodle border of the moment.

This is a larger size card to which I usually make but I felt the eye needed plenty of white space to dominate.

I want to say again thank you to Mark and Helen for letting me join the team at Visible Image.
