Birthday Flowers

I used

Circles Cube
Carol's Flower (small)
Happy Birthday

This week at the Stampotique Designers challenge Kristen has asked us to use circles on our projects.

I have a card to share with you this week and I discovered that Carol's small flower seems to fit very nicely inside the Cubed Circles.
So I used these on my card and added a simple greeting, finishing it off with a doodled border to tie in with the flower theme.

Scribbles and Doodles Art Journal Page

 I used

I cannot believe another week has passed by, a friends husband gave us his thoughts on why time seems to go faster as you get older, and he reckon it is all to do with the dither factor, you dither over things as you get older for 5 minutes whereas before it was just bam you did it, so 12 dithers a day is one hour, over a week its 7 hours and in a month it all adds up to over a day, as he reckoned your brain doesn't register the dither, it just thinks it is doing things in the same time frame as before !! So there you go before you know it it's christmas again.

So Bam it's Wednesday and time for another Stampotique challenge, this week hosted by Arwen. Her theme is scribbles. I have lots of scribbles on my journal page, actual scribbly scribbles and doodled scribbles as my border.

Big Hugs

I used

Agatha Flower
Agatha Text #1

This week Claudine is hosting the challenge at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog.

She has asked us to make something with our Mum's in mind.

My Mum died last year and I miss her so much and I would love to be able to pop round and see her for a cup of tea and a hug.
She loved her garden and when I was younger, I would get home from school and she would always be out tending the garden. So I have incorporated flowers and Hugs onto my card this week.

Using Agatha Flower as my main image, and the Big Hugs quote from the Agatha Text Stamp.

Finishing my card with a doodled Border, colouring my drawn flowers to co-ordinate with the Flower that Agatha is holding.

A Happy Camper

I used

Topher
Hat Cube
Happy Camper Text
Banner

This week at the Stampotique challenge blog Corrie is hosting the challenge, She has asked us to make a card with a masculine theme this week.

When I was younger we always used to go camping for a few weeks in the summer holidays, it always seemed to rain and be very windy and my dad always used to wear this very old hat, we used to call it his holiday hat.

As Father's day is in June I thought I would get ahead (see what I did there, Hat...ahead, I am so amazing lol) and make his Father's Day card.

So poor Topher is having to wear a tatty hat with flags blowing from it. We used to have flags along the front of our tent.

The card is finished with a quote and a quick doodled border.

Birds on a Wire

I used the following stamps

Crow Line
Kate's Doodles Cube
Circled Circle
Barcode Text #2

Woo Hoo it's is Wednesday again and that can only mean it is time for a new challenge on the Stampotique Designers Blog.

This week Kristen has chosen the theme of a TV show or Movie inspired project.

I have a film that has a particular memory for me from when I was young and being a little bit bad.
When I was younger we lived in a house that had a large glass door on the living room and you could sit on the stairs and watch TV through the door. I used to creep downstairs when I was supposed to be in bed, sit on the stairs and watch TV.
One night Alfred Hitchcock's film "The Birds" was on, I was only about 8 and I remember it scared me so much that I screamed and gave the game away and I had nightmares for ages afterwards.
I have used the film as the inspiration for my Tag.

My Background is done using my Gelli Plate and DecoArt Media paints before adding details with stamping and Gesso.

My birds on a wire are stamped directly onto my tag with black archival ink, my quote was stamped onto the margin of a book page and then stuck in place. Adding some Crackle Paint through a stencil that I coloured with Media Paint.
Finishing with a couple of wiggly lines of machine stitching.

Prompt Tags

I used

Little Friends
Kate's Doodles Cube

The latest challenge for Stampotique has been chosen by Kathi with the theme of "crack me up"
she has asked us to use crackle on our make and to give it a humorous theme.

I am in the process of making a tag book, this is intended to give me a bit of an prompt book for stamps and techniques that I love to use.

I have added a tag using the challenge this week as a prompt to use crackle on my projects. I mixed my DecoArt media Crackle paint with some fluid media acrylic to colour it before applying trough a stencil as the last step on my tag.

These are some tags that came on some clothes, they are lovely heavy grey card so I gave them a couple of coats of Gesso as a base, it is the direct stamping onto the gesso that gave my main image the worn look that it has in the photo, I was not sure about this at first as on the plain white tag it looked just badly stamped, but once I added in my colours and other stamping I liked the worn look of the image. Adding a smudge of colour to the dresses with my colouring pencils just seemed to finish it off.

One Little Flower

I used

Living is not enough

This week for the Stampotique challenge  Arwen has challenged us to use only nature in our makes, no Humans or Animals.

Now I did not realise how hard this would be, I kept thinking " add a bee or a butterfly" but I couldn't !!

So I have a journal page with flowers. I used it on my Gelli plate first of all to make my background.
I then stamped it in gesso on the page, then finally stamped it onto another Gelli Plate background before cutting out the flowers and adding sticking them in place.

I added a few more dribs and drabs with paint and pencils before adding my quote because in the end all I did need for this page was one little flower.

Spring is in the Air

I used the following stamps

Giant Daisy
The Earth Laughs in Flowers

I am hosting theme this week on the Stampotique Challenge Blog.

Because it is nearly spring here in the UK I have chosen the theme of
"Spring is in the Air" and asked you to use a flower or flowers on your project.

I have a journal page to share with you for the challenge. I like to journal on a black background in bright colours as it really makes it all pop off the page.

This is a fairly simple page done with finger painting and a couple of stencils, adding Jo's lovely Daisy as my main focal point.

Finishing it with a quote that always makes me think of spring as I think flowers are the Earths way of being pleased that winter is finally over.

Don't forget the blog hop for the new release of stamps is still on and two lucky people will win 2 randomly drawn prizes, details can be seen on the blog hop post HERE.

30 Minutes or Less

I used

Betsy - from the latest Release which can be seen HERE
Happy Bird-day

Sue has given us my favourite kind of challenge this week over at the Stampotique Blog.

To make something in 30 minutes or less.

I know we all can all make those big eye catching, wham bam pieces, but sometimes it is nice and very relaxing to make a quick item and for me this is usually a card, I  often make a pile of these, stamped and ready to do when I am in the mood for a bit of colouring.

I have a very quick card for you. I stamped it all directly in black archival ink, added my doodled border and then took it downstairs to colour while I watch TV.

I do love this bird, it makes a nice bright card for a spring Birthday. I did add a few more splatters to the edge of the bird with black pen to fill out the background in the empty space.

Being Square

I used the Following Stamps

Froggie
Concentric squares block
Strung
Color Her Soul

This week on the Stampotique Challenge Blog, Corrie has chosen the theme of Squares, and she has asked us to use squares in any form or material on our projects.

Full details of the Challenge this week, how to enter and the prize can been seen HERE.

I have a journal page with lots of square things on it. I only recently discovered the strung background stamp on the Stampotique website, but it has become a firm favorite of mine, as it is so versatile and I love to colour in the little hanging squares, bit of a kid I know, but who cares !!

I angled Froggie's head a little bit to try and give her a bit more attitude, I doubt any of Daniel's stamps really need more of that, but you know me, never a less is more type of girl.

I really enjoyed having a good play while doing this page and I even managed to leave some white space, I am sure if you tilt your head like Froggie you can see it !!

Love is in the Air

I used

Daniel's hearts
Love you heart
Batty
Batty about you

This week for Stampotique the challenge theme has been chosen by the lovely Coby.
She has chosen the theme of "love is in the Air"

I have made a box draw using a die I have for the challenge this week, and gone with some stamps that are usually more associated with Halloween, Batty and his matching quote.

I did my initial background on my die cut box using my Gelli Plate directly onto my die cuts. I stamped then with Daniel's hearts using black archival ink, and then assembled my box and draw.

I layered up some die cut rosettes on the top of the box, I must admit I don't use die cuts much anymore so remembering how to make these up was a bit of a challenge and they did have a bit of a ping factor going on and I lost them under my desk once or twice.

Once I finally got them assembled I stuck them to the top of the box and wrapped some paper covered wire round the whole thing.

I stamped my Heart, Batty and his quote with black ink onto white card and coloured them as needed.I then glued them all to a hat pin and stuck it into the top of the rosette pile.

It's Mardi Gras week at Stampotique

 I used the Following Stamps
Curlz
Clothes Text

Kathi is the host for the Stampotique Challenge this week.
She has used the Mardi Gras as her theme.
This is what she has to say about her challenge.

"The colors of Mardi Gras are purple, green, or gold. Use them or the symbols of Mardi Gras -- Fleurs de Lys, masks, costumes, or music! Let the good time roll!"

I have made a tag this week, I used the colours Purple Green and gold on my Gelli plate to make my basic background and then added other elements to it with stenciling, (there are some Gessod Fleur de Lys under here somewhere) stamping and doodling.
I also outlined the image in white pencil as it seemed to dark against the background and this seemed to make it pop off the tag a little bit.

Finishing it off with a quote and a little bit of machine stitching around the edges.

Two Tweedles

I used the Following Stamps

Alphabet Upper (number 2)

Another Wednesday and a new Stampotique challenge, already the weeks are just flying by.

This week the host for the challenge is Valerie and she has asked us to work in Twos.

These are her thoughts on the challenge.

"Nope, that's not a typo! This week, let's feature two's. You can interperet this any way you want. Duos, mirrors, the number two, duplicates - whatever comes to mind."

I have used the two naughty boys, The Tweedles on my card, stamping them directly onto my card blank and then colouring them in.

Adding Daniel's heart in the background and a Happy Birthday Quote for them to stand on, using a couple of odd Alphabet and numbers for a little bit of word play with the theme.

Enjoy the challenge this week.
