Crafty Individuals Challenge For June

There is a new challenge started over at the Crafty Individuals Blog for June. The theme has been chosen by my fellow Teamie Helen and she has asked you all to "Put a tag on it". Which is a lovely challenge for me as I am a bit of a tag hound, as I absolutly adore the shape to work on.

I have had a play with elements from various stamps for my tag, using one of the latest stamp releases CI - 411 as part of my background. I think I am going to keep this in my box of stamps that I use for journaling as its a very handy background stamp.

I used the following stamps on my tag.

CI - 411
CI - 385
CI-  349
CI - 277

Lighthouses at the Tag Along Challenge

I am the hostess for the Tag along Challenge this week. The theme is Lighthouses, and this is the tag I have made for the challenge. I have gone with a daytrip theme to the seaside for my tag, using distress inks and rubber stamping, finishing it off with a bit of rough doodling around the edges.

All my stamps are by Crafty Individuals and are available to buy from their on-line shop.

I hope you get time to join in the challenge this week and I will be popping by your blogs to have a look at any that you link up. Carol x

SPA - Lighthouse Challenge

I am hosting the theme of Lighouses on SPA this week . I have a bit of a thing for lighthouses and I have quite a collection of lighthouse stamps, but the ones I choose to use for this are by Crafty Indidviuals.

I stamped my main image and the postcard bit first and masked the lighthouse before sponging the whole card with blue and white paint. I used my new Decorat satin multi surface paints, I am enjoying using these as they give lovely coverage.

The remained of my images I stamped onto lightweight card, cut out and coloured before sticking down. I finished by stamping paint splatters, in two colours, shadowing the first colour by the second.

Do head on over to the blog to join in the challenge this week.

The Gypsy in Your Soul For The Tag Along Challenge

I am the hostess for the Tag along Challenge this week, the theme is Gypsy. A bit of a change for me this time as I have used a collage image. I used to collage a lot at one point and I remembered my lovely stash of Gypsy images when I saw the challenge.

It's layered onto a textured background that is over stamped with one of my favourite new text stamps, its the Medieval Manuscript from Crafty Individuals.

Finished with a bit of machine stitching, a coloured paper flower, a few twiddly bits and some beads.

I hope you get a chance to join in the challenge this week, Carol x

New Challenge site on the Block

Woot Woot, That's Crafty have a challenge Blog and I am chuffed to pieces to be part of this new venture for Laura who owns That's crafty.

The first challenge starts today and there will be two every month. The first one opens with an Anything goes theme which is nice and easy to get us all going.
Do try and pop on over to the blog to enter the challenge and to show your support for Laura and the team in this new venture.

I have used Crafty Individuals rubber stamps on my make for the challenge including one of the latest release stamps Medieval Script, which is available to buy from That's Crafty HERE.

This is a keeper and is on my window sill as I love the bright colours of it, because as many of you know I have a Folksy shop (a link is in the side bar) where I sell some of the things I make, with some of the profit going to a charity of my choice at the end of each year, I do not often like my things enough to want to keep them, but I shall not be parting with this.

Hope you mange to join in with the challenge, Carol xx

Alter your cheese boxes

Do you ever look at the cheese box when you have eaten the cheese. I save mine to alter and I don't have enough so I buy new ones too. This is what I have done with one of them recently.

I love the set of stamps from Crafty Individuals that I have used round the sides of it, adding holly round the rim of the lid.

Using the snowflake stamp and greeting on the lid.

Finishing it all off with a Tim Holtz Rosette topped with a shrink plastic circle that has the Santa over the rooftops on it which has the same houses but smaller as I used on the side of the box.

All the stamps are from Crafty Individuals and can be found on their site HERE.

Something Festive For Crafty Individuals

Oohhhh there is a new challenge on the Crafty Individuals Blog and you know how much fun they are and what a yummy prize that they come with. Its very simple this time, just make something festive, upload it with the widget on the post and voila you are entered. so what are you waiting for, pop on over and upload something pretty and festive, and as I am in bling mode at the moment I would say "chuck loads of glitter on it for luck too"

I have a selection of tags for you. The one below is very inspired by the make that I did on a recent Workshop I did that was run by Hels Sheridan and the make that inspired it can be seen HERE on my own blog.

This workshop also got me back in the mood for using die cuts so I came home and blew all the dust off them and started to play with them again and as you can tell the feature very heavily on my tags here.

What we made at our Hels Sheridan workshop

My sister and I recently met up to do a workshop together at Birds in the Barn in Marks Tey in Essex. It was a Hels Sheridan workshop and this is what we made.

There was lots of rubber stamping using the Yummy Crafty Individuals Stamps combined with lots of paint and treasure gold. It did make me come home and drag all my christmas Dies out of the dusty corner of my craft room where they live, so I think you will see them being used a bit of the never week or two.

I do have a couple of makes inspired by this class that I will share later this week, especially the patchwork background, although I had used this technique before I had forgotten all about it so I wish to thank Hels for giving my memory that much need poke to remember it.

My sister and I both really enjoyed ourselves, so I thought I would share what we made with you and also to thank Hels for a fabby class.

Thank you for visiting, Carol x
