A Postcard - Nursery Rhymes

I am hosting Sunday Postcard Art this week and I chose the theme  of Nursery Rhymes.
My postcard is a combination of collage, stamping and paint and I have chosen the Nursery Rhyme Lavender Blue.
I used only things I already had on my desk, the pile that had got shoved in the corner and left over from other projects.
The only exception was the actual Rhyme itself that I bashed out on my old Typewriter from when I was at school that I found a while ago in my Dad's loft when I was clearing the house after he Died. I was very glad to find it as I remember the Christmas that it was a gift from my parents and it's nice to have that memory every time I use it.

Pink Flamingo's make great Pets

I am hosting Sunday Postcard Art this week.

I chose the theme of "Pets". I was at the time of course thinking of all things cats, but I have recently discovered a fondness for Flamingo's , I mean whats not to love those big long legs and that great shade of pink and I would love to have one as a pet, so I used theme as my pet preference on my postcard for this week, of course with a little nod towards my other furry love, Cats.

Enjoy your day and I hope you get time to join in this week.

SPA - Lighthouse Challenge

I am hosting the theme of Lighouses on SPA this week . I have a bit of a thing for lighthouses and I have quite a collection of lighthouse stamps, but the ones I choose to use for this are by Crafty Indidviuals.

I stamped my main image and the postcard bit first and masked the lighthouse before sponging the whole card with blue and white paint. I used my new Decorat satin multi surface paints, I am enjoying using these as they give lovely coverage.

The remained of my images I stamped onto lightweight card, cut out and coloured before sticking down. I finished by stamping paint splatters, in two colours, shadowing the first colour by the second.

Do head on over to the blog to join in the challenge this week.

Sunday Postcard Art - Italy

I chose the theme on SPA this week and I chose Italy, simply because I love Italy, I am hoping to head back there this year for a short break and go to Rome again. I themed my postcard to greens and blues as Rome is a city of water, with what seems like a fountain at every turn and on every roundabout.

My Postcard is done using rub-ons, distress stains, rubber stamping and stitching.

Do head on over to the blog to join in the challenge this week.

I have also entered this into the Artistic Stamper February Challenge as the theme is to use Distress.

Enjoy your day, Carol x

Sunday Postcard Art and it's that Snowman again

I chose the theme on SPA this week and I chose Frosty the Snowman simply because I wanted to use my favourite snowman again. Do head on over to the blog to join in the challenge this week.

The background is stencilled a lot but as its corrugated card it does't really show up the stencil shapes it just looks like splodges. I coloured the corrugated card with fresco paint that I had put into a pump bottle and sprayed on and this got it into the grooves very well and I was happy with how this worked.

I then just added left over plastic letters that were all different colours so I painted them silver. Added small snowflakes jazzed up a bit with stickles and then the whole thing is doused in shaved ice.

Quite quick and simple but still leaves a nice mess on your desk lol.

The Snowman I have used is from Stampotique and is Simply called  "Snowman", and is available HERE.

Also don't forget the December Challenge for Stampotique is anything goes and is running for the whole month. Full details can be found HERE on the Stampotique Challenge Blog.

Sunday Post Card Art.

I am the hostess on Sunday Postcard Art this week. I have chosen the theme of Halloween with a Christmas twist. I chose this way back in April/May time, and I must admit I have actually doubted my sanity with this theme as I sat there blankly for ages with not an idea in my head (I think the idea I have back in April must have fallen out and got lost). But this is what I have come up with a Santa image masked with broom and Halloween head so it was cut out as one image and layered onto the background.
Thanks as always to Mandy for all the hard work she puts in to run the challenge and it would be great if you could pop on over to the blog to show your support for her.

Enjoy the rest of your day, Carol x
