Tando - Feel The Heat

I am the guest designer on the Tando Blog this month and the theme on the challenge Blog this month is Feel The Heat.

I have used the CUCKOO CLOCK KIT along with the PACK OF 5 SNOWFLAKES and the BUTTERFLY GRAB BAG.

I used an old barometer from my stash to make a seasonal item theming one side to warm colours and the other to cold to fit in with the temperatures on the dial.

Apart from the Tando kits I used the following items from the following suppliers who are both Tando Stockists.

Rubber Stamps from Crafty Indivudals
Grunge Paste and Fresco paints from That's Crafty.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, Carol x

Andy Skinner Week on the Tando Blog

It’s the week to share our  Andy Skinner  makes on the Tando Blog so as the guest this month I have this to share with you.
I decided to go with a gothic steampunk look for my finished item, imagining a witch tenderly stroking her spell book thinking of the evil within, as I used  a Neil Walker book cover kit and lots of grunge paste to bring my idea to life.
Full details of my make can be seen on the Tando Blog.

Tando - Summer Holidays

The theme on the Tando Blog this week is Summer Holidays. I love the summer and as I live in a seaside town the circus comes to town for a week followed by a funfair on the village green, so of course I had to alter the 4 HORSE CAROUSEL as my piece for this week. I added wings to the horses using the wings from the STEAMPUNK WINGS AND COGS SET and these could have been designed for this as they were such a perfect fit on the horses. Adding details with THE BURNING RUBBER MASK  and the DOTTED STAR. Throwing in lots of rubber stamping and paint for good measure.

I used the Rubber stamps Vintage Circus by Oxford impressions which are available from That's Crafty who are also as Tando Stockist.

The Bunting is by Stampotique Originals

Summer Time at Crafty Individuals

The new challenge at Crafty Individuals is "Sea, Sun and Beach". I have used the Tando Layered Rowing Boat as the main feature in my little assemblage.

I painted the boat with Fesco finish paints using the crackle medium between layers. I then stamped my image directly onto the back piece and coloured it before assembling the boat. I then added the other stamped elements as shown. Drift wood and collected shells complete my little assemblage.

The Tando boat is available from That's Crafty

All the stamps used are from Crafty Individuals: British Bulldog (bunting), CI - 384, CI - 278

Thank you for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day, Carol x

A bit of soldering

I wondered how solder would work with chipboard, would the heat of the solder and the iron burn the chipboard, so before I began the project I had in mind I experimented with a bit left over from a Tando kit.

I thought while I was playing with it I would colour it so it fitted in with the Tando challenge this month. I stamped the blank chip and once the line of solder was on it had a nice rim, so I added a small dragonfly, so beadazzels and finally filled it with resin. I soldered a jump ring to the top of it so it can be hung, I think I will put a shorter chain on it, than the one in the photo so I can hang it on my bag or keyring.

Left Over Tando

Sometimes when I use a Tando kit I have little left overs. I have made these using bits left over from the Tando Heart kit.

They both have a painted and stamped background. I have added a metal charm to the smaller heart, sealed it under a coat of resin, doming the resin so it covered the charm. I added a brooch pin to the back and its is now being worn by a rabbit that lurks in my craft room.

The larger shape I have punched a hole in to use it as a keyring, also covering it in resin to protect it during use.

As this is a keyring, it fits in with the new beginning theme (New key, New home) on the Tando challenge this month, I am linking it to the challenge.
